MJ Aquatics is an independent, family run business owned by Mark and Jennifer Wood - making up the MJ!

 

What started as a hobby became our passion, then our business, and we now spend all our spare time caring for our fish. We started out breeding African Cichlids in natural style habitats and quickly became overrun! That's when we decided we had to get our license and start selling our water babies.

 

Over the last couple of years we have expanded our fish rooms and the species we sell. We've always believed in providing high quality healthy fish for a reasonable price as that's what we've always looked for when buying fish for ourselves.

 

In order to expand our variety, we now bring fish in (much as we'd love to breed everything ourselves, we simply don't have the room or time) from  a reputable, reliable suppliers local to us who have been in the business for fifty years so they know their stuff!

We genuinely care for our fish and believe that they should be provided with a nice place to live (even if they are just lodging temporarily) so each of our tanks is on it's own filtration system so no cross contamination can occur if a fish becomes ill. The fish all have substrate and usually an ornament or two so they aren't just staring at nothing all day. Our ethos has always been to provide high quality, healthy, happy fish for a reasonable price!
