    Neocaridina Davidi - These shrimp are small, prolific breeders and useful aquarium cleaners. They come in a wide range of colours but are naturally brown with the colour introduced by selective breeding.

    Native to China and Taiwan these busy little shrimp are very easy to care for and contribute to the aquarium ecosystem. The males tend to be smaller with a more elongated body and translucent colour. The females have a wider body (known as a saddle) and are more vibrant. Easy to breed, the females will carry the eggs under her saddle and constantly fan them with her rear legs. When the shrimp are hatched they are almost invisible to the naked eye but grow quickly.

    Maximum size: 4cm

    Lifespan: 1-2 years

    Temperature: 22-24 degrees celsius (will tolerate lower temperatures down to 16 degrees but probably won't breed)

    Tank requirements: Filter & Oxygen, Heater

    Tank Mates: Nanofish such as microrasboras, neon tetra, mountain minnows are less likely to snack on your shrimp. The shrimp themselves are completely peaceful.

    Feeding: Good Quality Flake or Pellets
